Holidays

Roughly 2 weeks ago the Earth celebrated the autumn equinox or Mabon. I joined a group that was paying homage to native American spirits.... They weren't native American.... But I was planning to do something anyway so I said why not.

I celebrate the equinoxes and solstices without question. The others.... Iffy. But those 4? Every time. Am I a Wiccan? NO! But wiccans don't own astronomical events. I may celebrate may day and of course Halloween. But the others on the wiccan wheel.... Maybe... Maybe not.

But it's important to celebrate holidays especially astronomical ones. We, as tenants of this planet, need to stay grounded and in harmony with the planet. For all our intelligence and technology, can we control natural disasters? No. Can we force the sky to release rain? No. We need to be humble and respectful with regard to nature and thank the planet for supporting us.

Also, holidays punctuate the calendar and gives us something to look forward to. Imagine having NOTHING to get excited about. I'd perish from boredom. I know this because I tried it for a few years. Pure misery.

As adults, we get to choose how we live. I hope you choose harmony. Otherwise you've chosen destruction.

Try to be careful guys
