New Year, New Me!

I recognize the spring equinox as the beginning of the new year. It's also when I end my annual cleanse, so that I may enter the new year internally clean. It's the time of the year I feel most inspired to do new things. In Ayurveda.... this is known as Pancha Karma. Now I know that's not "Hoodoo", but I'm multidimensional. I've been studying Ayurveda for well over 20 years. By no means am I an expert. But I'm not a lightweight either.
So, some of the spiritual resolutions I'm moving with is to be more authentic with myself and enjoy my solitude more. I'm busy, just like everyone else and I need to stop letting the world intrude on my self care. I'm a sole practitioner, business owner, wife, godmother and godchild with a small homestead. I work 6 days a week and have my hands in a lot of fires. I easily get lost. Not that I don't already enjoy my life, but there are many things that I want to do that I keep putting off until a more advantageous time. There's no such thing.
I have begun to develop a routine that allows me to get in all my personal, spiritual, social and business obligations in. For example.... My husband is a grown man, but he cannot boil an egg. He eats A LOT. But he can make his own salad for work. I have gotten him to the point where all I have to do is provide him with dinner. The problem is, he wants dinner at 5.... I leave work at 7. See the problem? No problem! I cook all his meals on Sunday (my only day off) and he can heat them up. It's all about developing routines and boundaries and maintaining them.
Another thing I have to do is make time for an annual solo vacation. I would love for my husband to vacay with me, but he doesn't like to travel. It's as wrong for me to force him as it is for me to deny myself the joy of different surroundings. So I'm planning to take a few small trips while the weather is pleasant. In the south we have short but cold winters and extraordinary hot summers. So travel at that time is not ideal. But it is now.... And will be again in autumn.
What's the point of this post? Now that we are on the crux of a new astrological year, lets all make the best of it while living in harmony with nature.
